Listen to the “Can’t Find The Feeling,” the second track released ahead of Daptone’s posthumous Charles Bradley Album, Black Velvet.

With the passing of Charles Bradley, whose battle with cancer ended last year, the world lost a unique voice. However, his bravado, his supreme soul and his bursting vocal power have been immortalized on the posthumous album, Black Velvet, to be released on the 9th of November.

The 10-track album has been put together by Dunham and Daptone and compiled by Bradley’s longtime producer and co-writer Thomas Brenneck. It will feature pieces from the studio sessions of all three of his albums – No Time for Dreaming (2011), Victim of Love (2013), and Changes (2016) – along with covers of songs by Nirvana, Neil Young and Rodriguez.

The album’s official lead single, “I Feel a Change,” was released to acclaim in early September. It showcases the power and the poignance in Bradley’s style and acts as a fitting reminder of the personality that we already miss.

Now, Dunham Records have released a second single from the album. “Can’t Fight The Feeling” opens with a signature Bradley shriek before giving way to a punchy horn section and lively percussion. At its heart, it is a song about taking a chance on love. Another fade-out shriek to close the track seems to linger for long after the music stops. The self-appointed “screaming eagle of soul” lives on.
