Following his acclaimed 2016 album Malibu, .Paak is back with "TINTS", the newest single from his forthcoming LP Oxnard.

The official music video for “TINTS,” featuring a cameo from Dr Dre, will only increase the hype that surrounds this anticipated new release.  The clip was directed by Colin Tilley, a filmmaker who has been around the block, having also worked with Rihanna, Nicki Minaj and Future. But the official video doesn’t feel familiar in the slightest. We begin with a quote from Edgar Allan Poe: “Believe none of what you hear, and only half of what you see.” The scene then opens onto .Paak and a woman, mid-argument, with her saying “I wanna live in an unmasked world.” .Paak meditates on what this would mean–on what kind of truth it would require …

What follows is a sequence of moments that are cut together with no particular logic. It is hard to discern particular themes but the clip seems to center around sex, violence, connection and betrayal. We see .Paak bound and gagged in a trunk, sat in a peep show, speaking to old girlfriends and therapy support groups. Meanwhile Lamar is attached to an oxygen tank whilst Death waits in the en suite.

It has a dark humor to it, matched to a beat with bounce and funk. It is disorientating and captivating in equal measures. The full album comes out on the 16th of November.
