The Los Angeles talent is the latest artist to be added to Flying Lotus' Brainfeeder catalog. Listen to her new track here.
Brainfeeder was started by the artist known as Flying Lotus back in 20018 in order to exploit and promote L.A.’s underground scene. Joining a roster that includes the likes of Thundercat, Kamasi Washington, Georgia Anne Muldrow, Lapalux and many more, Salami Rose Joe Louis will seek to use the deal as a platform to foster her down-tempo delights.
In a statement about her first offering on the label, “Nostalgic Montage,” the artist said: “I hope it resonates with existential questions about home, identity, future, and self-awareness.” Indeed – the track has an uncanny way of bringing out these ideas; with drowsy synth effects, a soft bassline and a percussion-less, pillowy texture throughout, it transports you to a kind of introspective daydream without you even registering it.
The beatmaker, keyboardist and vocalist is sure to release more soon, having already worked with Brainfeeder’s PBDY on the label’s 10th anniversary boxset. Listen to the new track here:
