The psychedelic electronic jazz trio have released the new track “Summon the Fire” ahead of their upcoming album Trust In The Lifeforce Of The Deep Mystery.

Shabaka Hutchings continues his ascent in the world of jazz, flying alongside his celebrated Sons of Kemet and several high-profile collaborations. Yet, on March 15, we will all be reminded of another of his outfits: The Comet is Coming.

After signing a deal with the iconic Impulse! Records, the London-based electronic-psychedelic jazz trio is looking to offer a follow up to their 2015 Mercury-nominated debut. Its title: Trust In The Lifeforce Of The Deep Mystery – but while this may sound elaborate, it is a sense that is echoed in the music.

The group, comprised of King Shabaka on sax, Betamax Killer (Max Hallet) on drums and Danalogue the Creator (Dan Leavers) on synth/keys, has released a teaser to fan the flames ahead of their full LP. “Summon the Fire” rolls into life through a conveyor-belt of quick-paced electronic pulsations. Then, Hutchings’ hoarse squawks on the sax take flight among cosmic synths and Hallet’s propulsive beats. It tumbles forward like a fireball, signaling danger as well as thrills. Listen to it here:
