Live Vibes 2 is an EP that represents Tank and the Bangas' energy incredibly well. It combines their crisp, vibrant and soulful edge with a propulsive and purposeful authenticity.
For many, the New Orleans-based outfit first burst onto the scene following their 2017 Tiny Desk NPR competition victory and subsequent session. This live performance was the perfect platform to unveil their personality to online viewers: it was dynamic, charismatic and unique. Now they have taken some of that essence and put it in the title of their new EP, Live Vibes 2.
Tarriona Tank Ball and her band, who combine R&B, poetry, hip-hop and more, have created a 6-track experience that flows with a boundless spirit from piece to piece. At times, it sounds like rock and roll, old soul or 80’s glam, at others it sounds like resolutely modern trap or hip-hop. They have released the EP in conjunction with the announcement of a number of tour dates which will start from April, where they will play alongside the likes of Al Green, Maggie Koerner and St. Paul & The Broken Bones. The new EP is now available on streaming platforms.
